Keeping Track of Recyclables and Diverted CO2

Individuals are encouraged to recycle, but for the most part do not know precisely what effect their recycling has. This group posited that being able to keep track of how much they recycle and how much CO2 this saves through a recycling weighing system would help shed light on this issue.  Read more here.

StairMaster 5000

This group was aiming to encourage more people to take the stairs by making this activity more fun. They implemented a motion sensor-based music system in the stairwell in Wean Hall between the 4th and 5th floor. In addition, they were able to analyze pre- and post-implementation results to see if it caused change in the number of people who take the stairs.  Read more here.
